first rejection of the year . . .

. . . came within two days of sending off the latest version of the first novel. A standard, impersonal rejection email. I don’t know whether to be glad to be informed so quickly — because there’s nothing more irritating than no answer at all — or whether to torture myself with thoughts of the agent reading the first sentence only before deciding, nah, rubbish, and hitting the rejection email key. Sigh.
